Hair filler treatment

What hair Hair filler treatment is
It is not a medical procedure. The name is a marketing move: it suggests the same smoothing and rejuvenating effect on hair that cosmetic procedures gives skin. In essence it is an intensive repairing and smoothing treatment built on a complex cocktail of active ingredients.

Key features and ingredients:
Unlike keratin straightening, where the main agent is formaldehyde or its derivatives (for the sealing), hair filler treatment is based on:
  • Hydrolysed proteins (keratin, collagen, elastin) fill the gaps in the hair structure.
  • Vitamins (most often the B group).
  • Amino acids.
  • A complex of moisturising ingredients (hyaluronic acid, oils).
  • Smart polymers (caviar or black silk oil, for example) that wrap around the hair and create a protective film.
The result (how your hair looks and feels)
  1. Instant revival: dry, porous, unruly hair turns smooth, heavy and manageable. You see it right after the first session.
  2. Remarkable smoothness and shine: the filled-in irregularities and the smooth polymer film reflect light evenly, which gives a mirror shine.
  3. Repair from within, not just added weight: good formulas genuinely repair rather than mask the problem. Hair becomes more elastic and breaks less.
  4. A smoothing effect, but not an aggressive one: there is a light straightening effect, but not the rigid, glued-down look of keratin straightening. Your natural wave can stay, only groomed and smooth. The frizz goes.
  5. Lasting hydration: hair stops reacting to humidity because its porosity is reduced.
Variations and details
  • For different hair types: there are formulas for fine or weakened hair, for thick or coarse hair, and for coloured hair.
  • Longevity: the effect lasts 1.5 to 3 months on average, depending on the formula, the condition of your hair and your home care (a sulphate-free shampoo is a must).
  • How it differs from keratin straightening:
  • Keratin is first of all straightening (with a chemical seal), sometimes at the cost of volume.
  • Hair filler treatment is first of all deep repair and conditioning, with smoothness and light straightening as a side effect. Root volume survives better.
This is an excellent rescue and rehabilitation treatment for hair that is:
  • Badly damaged by colouring, bleaching or heat styling.
  • Dry, porous, unruly, frizzy.
  • Dull and lifeless.
One important warning:
The quality of the result depends 90% on the formula of the particular brand and on the skill of the stylist. Cheap formulas give only a temporary silicone masking effect.
Ideally the treatment is done together with a haircut: the cut removes the dead split ends, the Hair filler treatment restores the living length.
